Indie powerhouse, Terry Moore, began his career with the critically acclaimed series, Strangers in Paradise. The series garnered numerous industry awards including the coveted Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story and the National Cartoonists Society Comic Book Division Reuben Award.  Throughout his career Moore has worked for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse (and other major publishers) in addition to publishing three other award winning hit series, Motor Girl, Rachel Rising, and ECHO.

Nick Garber / APOGEE COMICS

Nick Garber is a penciler, inker, and writer who has worked for several independent comic book publishers but is best known for his work on The Phantom Hawk, Corvid & Sparrow, and The Crimson Guardians.

Jay Gillespie is a father of 3 and a Katy/Houston-based comic book self-publisher, writer/artist since 2016. With a background in print production and design, the challenges of comic printing wouldn’t be a road block. Stories were clamoring to get out, so after several years of writing and re-writing, the passion for storytelling in the world of comics took off.

ZAIN SHENWARI / INZANE COMICS

Zain Shenwari, founder of inZane Comics, is focused on creating wholesome content for all ages. He began his writing career in 2017 with his first comic The Elemental Balance. Since then, he has begun production of two additional titles, Game Plan and The Lost King, both of which will be available soon. With inZane comics’ roster of diverse comic titles and genres for all ages, the company hopes to spark the love of art and creativity to the next generation.

Samby Sayward / BOUNDLESS BARD

TABLE # 22

Samby Sayward, founder of Boundless Bard, creates what she wants to see in popular media: fun, exciting stories about BADASS WOMEN.  Her adventure started in 2018 with her fantasy super-spy comic The Damsel.  Since, she’s published two other titles, Red Rose and Twin Spires, to build up to her next generation fairy tale series Daughters of Grimm.  She hopes her stories and efforts both entertain and inspire others to create the change they want to see.

Jennifer Nesrsta / Kieshar

TABLE # 26

Jennifer Nesrsta has been an illustrator and graphic designer for most of her adult career. She’s classically trained in art geared grade schools, SCPA and Arts Magnet, and went on to getting a BFA in painting and drawing at UNT. She’s inked and penciled pages for an Indie comic called Scorch and Innocent. Currently, she’s working on her own fantasy world, Belma – Girl Foal/Winged Boy. It is a short silent webcomic where every page is a watercolor painting.

CHANTEÉ HALE / INDIE AUTHOR

TABLE # 1

Chanteé is a published author and indie comic creator for dark fiction, fantasy, and science fiction for everybody. She particularly enjoys writing villainous characters such as Jordan, from Please or the complex anti-hero Hunter from the Dying Light web comic, originally produced by iNHale Film Productions. In her free time Chanteé enjoys watching movies while floating in her pool, introducing her kid and their friends to larping and table top gaming, and annoying her cats.

Chet Presley, co-founder of Pulp 21 along with Richard Thomas Basey, has been working as a graphic designer in the sign industry for too long. When he’s not attempting to stab his eyes out with his Wacom stylus, he’s fighting the need to sleep in order to make comics nearly every day. He often worries about blood seeping back into his caffeine system.

Kenneth J. Wagnon / HEARTS FULL OF SAND

TABLE # 20

Kenneth J. Wagnon is a full-time, independent comic creator from Dallas, Texas that has been working independently since 2015,   . His upcoming graphic novel is the manga-inspired western HEARTS FULL OF SAND, a contemporary take on the genre that trades in horses and cowboy hats for diesel engines and tattoos.

2 PM “Working with Online Social Platforms”

Reshaun Finkley / Lockett’s Intellectual Property

Reshaun is an Associate in Townsend & Lockett’s Intellectual Property & Litigation Practice Groups and focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on patent infringement, trademark infringement and misappropriation. His litigation experience includes significant motions practice, legal research and writing, deposition preparation and defense, and settlement negotiations.
