Are you ready to enter the most prestigous indie comics competition in Texas? You think you’ve got what it takes to take hame the big trophy? Enter the 2025 Comic Indie Competition and submit your comic before October 1st. Then have fun and attend Comic Indie Con on November 1st to find out if you’ve won. Carefully read the “Rules For the Competition” below, then when you’ve completed your comic come back to this page and fill out the form below and submit your comic digitall. It’s that easy!
RULES FOR THE COMPETITION
1. Eligibility
- Open to all creators ages 13 and over.
- Individual creator entries only (no teams).
- All work (characters and story) must be original. No copyrighted characters!
- Previous winners are not eligible.
2. Submission Guidelines
- Submit digitally in PDF or image format (.jpg/.png).
- Minimum 300 DPI.
- 30 MB Limitation.
- Must be in English
- Page limit: 1-6 pages.
- Fill in form above and submit your comic by October 1, 2025
3. Judging Criteria
- Artistic Quality (style, consistency, visual impact)
- Storytelling (pacing, clarity, originality)
- Creativity (concept, world-building, uniqueness)
- Technical Skill (layout, lettering, color or B&W use)
- Judges will be industry professionals, artists, and writers.
4. Prizes
- Winners will be annouced at the show on Saturday November 1st (we ask all participants to be present at the show).
- First Place: Trophy and a select prize
- Runner-Up: Award and a select prize
- Audience Choice: [Insert prize – typically based on votes]
5. Rights & Publishing
- By entering, you grant permission to display your work online/in print for promotion.
- Winners may be invited to feature on our site.
- Creators retain full rights.
6. Disqualification
- Submission of previously published work (unless explicitly allowed)
- Late entries
- Failure to follow format
- Failure to use original workNo hate speech, explicit pornographic content, or extreme violence.
- Respect fellow creators and the community.
- Plagiarized work will be disqualified.
